Tove Jansson (1914-2001) was a Finnish visual artist, illustrator and writer. In 1966 she received the Hans Christian Anderson Prize for her contribution to children’s literature. Her children’s stories about the Moomins were world -renowned and translated into 43 languages, selling millions of copies.
