How HIV Saved My Life (Paperback, 347 pg) Loyiso Lindani

When Loyiso Lindani woke up on the morning of the 8th of February 2002, the first thing that she knew even before opening her eyes was that her mother who was laying in the bed next her was gone. The death happened a few months before her 18th birthday, rendering her an orphan who at the time had decided to drop out of high school to look after her terminally ill mother.

Join her on this painful yet poignantly beautiful journey as she retells some of the most tragic yet life changing moments. This is a story of hope, courage, love, falling, rising, losing, winning and perseverance. In it she talks about how HIV helped in transforming her life, helping her pick up the pieces and finding her own voice again. Just how did she survive being a University drop-out, dating taxi drivers, sugar daddies, being in abusive relationships that nearly left her for dead, rape, anxiety, depression and living with HIV?

Today she is an inspiration who boldly uses her voice to give many others who may not be as strong as her the courage and hope that a positive HIV diagnosis is not the end of the world. She is using her story to reflect that scars can turn to stars.

Her purpose is to help others understand that they can pursue their goals, dreams and ambitions regardless of the obstacles they may have faced in life.
