Delivery

Delivery information

Irrespective of the delivery method you choose or which is allocated, we always take responsibility up to the point of delivery, i.e. if your parcel goes missing or the contents are damaged, we will replace the affected items at no cost to you, or we will refund.

Please note that the time taken to ship an item is not currently listed on each product’s detail page. In general, product that is marked in stock with a stock quantity is available immediately; product that is marked on back order or in stock with no stock quantity  indicates delivery will be within 5 to 11 days.

Orders are shipped in full, if multiple or pre-order books are included, the order will be shipped when all books are available.

Delivery options (only within RSA)

We currently offer two local methods of delivery: Courier at a standard cost of R75-00 and Postnet at a standard cost of R95. 

The Courier Guy

This is a door-to-door service. The delivery address must be a physical address including the postal code and a cell phone number is preferable for delivery updates.  Someone will need to be available at the address to receive the delivery. Deliveries are made during business hours from Monday to Friday.

Delivery to addresses in main centres is generally within 2 working days once the order has been dispatched. Main centres include properties within an approximate 25km radius of the major cities in South Africa.  We do not deliver by courier to areas that fall outside of the 25km main centres radius, plots, farms, mines, military bases, major chain stores, power stations, game reserves and lodges, airports or harbours, and should your delivery address fall into one of these categories you will be liable for the extra costs incurred in delivering or returning the parcel. Collection from a Courier Guy Kiosk or Postnet store should be selected as the delivery option for these locations. Where a courier may be used and If you are not in a main centre, delivery can take up to 5 (work) days. 

The couriers issue email / SMS notifications at the point of collection, at hub, out for delivery and delivered. There is an OTP issued on collection and on delivery. You can also follow the link provided for more detailed tracking.

Please do not select the courier method for delivery to a Postnet store, unless it is a place of work or where you have personal arrangements with the store directly for your parcel to be accepted by a non-Postnet courier service.  We cannot guarantee that the store will accept the delivery on your behalf and in some instances, the store can charge you an additional fee for handling the parcel.  We cannot accept responsibility or charges for the return/non-acceptance of a delivery by the store.

Postnet

This is a Postnet-to-Postnet service and delivery is between 1 -5 (work) days through their own courier service.  In the notes section when checking out, please supply the relevant Postnet store details that you choose to have the parcel delivered to.

Tracking

We do not have the tracking on our website but you are supplied with the tracking links and you are always kept updated by ourselves and the couriers.

Scams

Once your parcel has been dispatched by us, no additional payment to the courier is required. Scams are unfortunately prevalent. In the event that you receive an email or sms asking you to make a payment in order to deliver your parcel, please ignore and delete – do not click on any links. You will only receive email and sms notifications from The Courier Guy confirming the status of your order, and never for further payment.
